Details of our Welsh facility, including directions
DDRC Healthcare has a smaller hyperbaric unit based within the Spire Hospital at Pentwyn, Cardiff, which is ideally located to treat our patients from South Wales and the West of England.
The unit contains two monoplace hyperbaric chambers, enabling us to treat two patients at a time, in our nurse led facility. Our patients are given hyperbaric oxygen therapy for a range of conditions where they have chronic, non-healing wounds or tissue damage.
We do not treat any emergency patients at this location. Any emergency hyperbaric referrals are directed to our larger Hyperbaric Medical Centre in Plymouth or alternative appropriate hyperbaric chambers around the country.
Patients are referred by their doctor or consultant via our Hyperbaric Medical Centre in Plymouth, where our specialist doctors will review the referral and arrange for an initial assessment. Your initial appointment will be arranged and on arrival at the South Wales unit you will be met by the Clinical Nurse Manager or another member of our highly skilled and experienced staff, who will fully explain the treatment process. This will take about an hour and may involve some pre-treatment tests.
Our team will then be able to confirm the dates and times of your subsequent treatment programme and if necessary help sort out your accommodation requirements.
